Featured in the Warman's Costume Jewelry by Pamela Y Wiggins—This full parure is one of the most incredible sets I have had the pleasure of owning by Vendome. It is jaw dropping! The aurora borealis tear drop crystals are just stunning! The necklace has a prong set crystal rhinestone cap just above each drop. It reminds me of a ballerina—it tops each drop like a crystal tutu. It was difficult to do this set justice when photographing, but hopefully you will see the unreal sparkle this set has—very dramatic. This stunning necklace makes quite a statement! The large crystals have an aurora borealis finish that flash color in every direction. Such glamour, it is impossible not to stare at this beautiful necklace. Each large crystal bead has plenty of room for the light to hit it just right. The result is so eye catching! Although this is a weighty piece the faceted crystal and rhinestones give it such femininity. The AB finish makes a light show out of this beautiful parure.
The brooch is quite unique. I have seen this brooch in pink and a light blue, but always listed alone. All the lovely beads have an intricate filigree wire construction. The crystal beads are set with a floral white end cap and a rhinestone headpin topping each. Hanging below is a light catching single large crystal bead. The earrings are very dainty making tiny chandeliers of colorful prisms. The bracelet has been married to this set. I had acquired it and felt that it would be a nice addition to the set. It does not have the rhinestone cap which I mentioned earlier, but that withstanding they are identical. Possibly Vendome made this set with and without this feature. The bracelet has not been cared for as the rest of the pieces. Someone wore it and enjoyed it, and it does show wear to the AB finish. I am pricing this set accordingly and asking very little difference with our without this bracelet. I can't imagine not including it.

Vendome Jewelry History —
Vendome was established as a subsidiary of Coro to manufacture a superior line of jewelry. The mark was used as early as 1944 on charm bracelets and faux pearl jewelry, but the Vendome line which began in the 1950's did not become popular until the early 1960's, largely due to beautiful designs introduced by Helen Marion, Vendome's principal designer. Basically, Vendome replaced Corocraft, which, up to that time, marked the higher quality jewelry made by Coro. Vendome jewelry used the best of imported rhinestones and faceted crystal beads. The clarity and brilliance of the stones and top quality metalwork combined in artistically expressive designs were the main factors behind Vendome's success.
