A pretty little brooch (very small) from France by Catherine Popesco. The colors of enamel used are just perfect together—very rich. Swarovski Aurora Borealis rhinestones make an elegant design. The enamel brooches which look like this one used a method of colored enamel and swarovski rhinestones in their design and then they topped the brooch with a clear enamel. I have to wonder why this method of finishing the brooch ever began. You can only assume it was to protect the enamel surface. This isn't something our designers did here, so possibly just Popesco's unique style. ID-545

She started by finding old stampings designed by celebrated artists such as Lalique, Mucha, Gallé, and more on her shopping trips by rambling through the old Paris.
